Yesterday we replaced a waterline. This particular job in Snellville was in a neighborhood where the houses were built in early 1980's. The trees are very mature and the roots are enormous. Even though this homeowner had PVC pipe in her yard, the roots were enveloping the main water service line and caused a stress fracture on one of the joints. I recommended replacing the line with a durable, yet flexible polyethylene pipe and guaranteed this would not happen again with one continuous line from the meter to the house.
I carefully manuevered my machine around her bushes to trench her yard. I treat each owner's yard as if it is my very own. We try to make it look as good as it looked before we got there. We take great care of our customer's property, and are delicate with the plant life. Although we don't replace the sod, we do pack the ditch and ready the soil for grass seed or for the grass to naturally grow back over it.
We always make sure the homeowner's smile is the last thing we see as we are leaving the job.
